Probably 15 years old now? Put electric Bafang motor on it. Bike works great, although mine only has a “V-brake” in back. Wish it had rear disc or you could add it. With good rear pads and adjusted perfect, it works good for non-disc.

A friend showed me this new folding bike featured in a biking magazine, and immedistely bought it. I love it, and through all these years have literally put many thousands of miles on it. i just wish Montague would make a carbon fibre version of it, I’d buy it in a heart beat, almost no matter how much it cost!

Amazing bike! Rode it from Coast to Coast. From the Keys to Nantucket. The Tetons, Grand Canyon, Rockies, and Blue Ridge. I had everything on this thing. the fold-up pedals. loved it. Unfortunately I was in a hurry cuz of an impending rainstorm and didn’t strap it down to well on my pickup. Came off on some dark road in the middle of nowhere during a downpour. My wife is surprised at how Zen I am about the loss. I’m sad, but it’s time for a new one.

It not only turns peoples heads, it is tough as they come. I’ve crashed a few times, but the bike came out with no damage (can’t say this about me, just minor injuries). The crashes occurred when I jumped off from the bike to nab a bad guy running from me! This bike is excellent for police duty. I love this bike and the way it handles the city streets. I’ve had a few other police brands, but none come close to the craftsmanship as the Paratrooper. 👮🏼‍♂️😎

I love how the bike folds up and fits easily in my Ford Explorer! I highly recommend the Montage Paratrooper for anyone wishing to own the ultimate in brand, style, and over all performance!

I couldn’t be happier with my purchase of this paratrooper mountain bike. Thank you for creating her.

Its now set up with front and rear racks, front and rear bags, fenders, lights, solar panel,…its a stock bicycle except for the front rack ( 4100 series..67.00 universal fits any bike out there ) and fender modifications for me and the rain, I have over 7000 miles on this bike riding on and off road, just got back from 250 mile 7 day ride over white pass in Washington state at 4500 ft. In 115 degree heat fully loaded ( apx 220 lbs ), in 7000 miles i have broken 1 rear spoke and 1 rear break cable ! There your answer to its quality of construction, i am on my 4th set of tires, I have over 7000 miles on my chain, derailers, shifters and it works like a new bike, what can I say….I rode 1200 + miler in Southern California last winter…370 miles on Oregon coast…its on amtrak, throw it in busses..on bus racks..public transportation everywhere,…it runs and runs and rides and rides. its not the bike for everybody but it for sure the bike for me…GREAT JOB IN BULDING A STRONG BIKE! from Lake Mayfield Wa….RIDE HARD ,LIVE LONG AND LOVR LIFE ! to the next outdoor music festival!??‍♂️?

I loved it so much I am now in 2021 debating about buying it again as I travel for work and miss getting out exercising. I think the price is a bit steep, but honestly where else are you going to get a bike like this and have something as rugged? I am not sure if hardtails are the best for offroad biking, which is probably a drawback for some, but its a hell of a bike in 2011 that I am saving up for one again.

So far I have simplified the drivetrain to 1×8 (32T narrow-wide RaceFace chainring, 12-42T Shimano cassette) and have moved gradually to wider bars. My next upgrades will be to an air-shock fork, even wider bars and a correspondingly shorter stem. I have used this bike on the rough-and-tumble rock gardens of NE Pennsylvania for years and have enjoyed every minute of every ride.

I love the bike, perfect for inside your boat or car. I have a folding kayak also, guess folding’s in the blood!

The componentry has held up well, most use has been weekly as a commuter, and bikepacking rail trails. My only complaint, and some of this is me of course, but it can be a slow bike at 32 lbs when compared to lighter set ups, and friends that are too fit! After Covid, and perhaps a bit of a dream, is I hope to complete an Iceland / Faroes trip and then hand it over to my granddaughter. Thanks to Montague for creating such a good product and I should also say for holding the bike to an affordable price, as a new base model is comparable to what I paid years ago!
